IODAI Schull Coaches
Well we did promise you one of the best line-up of coaches ever! For those of you who have been to Schull before you will recognise some of the names, and those of you who have not been, take a good look at the photos and read about the coaches who will be meeting you in February. Here is the list of our international coaches in no particular order: |

Massimo Giorgianna.
He is our Italian born Italian coach. He is a former 420 sailor who now coaches the U16 National Team of the Italian Federation and has for the last 18 years. He specialises in Optimist, 29er and L’equipe classes. Results from his coaching include European Championship 1993: 1st Girl, 199: 1st Girl, 2000: 1st Boy & Girl, 2002 1st Girl, 2nd Boy, 2003: 1st Girl, 2007: 1st Boy, 2008: 1st Boy and 1st place in the European Team Race 2008. Besides sailing Massimo enjoys football (goalkeeper) and Sudoku. |

Vagelis Atzemina.
Just known as Vagelis. Our Greek Coach whose hobby is throwing oranges. Vagelis is another optimist sailor who has achieved great results in the World Championships team racing. He has coached 3rd place at the Europeans and 6th place at the worlds fleet racing in 2007. Also 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Girls Optimist Europeans. |

Dennis Paaske
Dennis started sailing optimists when he was 9 years old. As an optimist sailor he qualified in Denmark for the Europeans and Worlds. He started coaching when he was 18. Ten years on he is working as an international and Olympic coach. He has coached several world and European championships in his career and lots of national champions in both individual and team racing. He now resides in Denmark with his wife. He is really looking forward to coaching during Schull. |

Kasper Paulsen.
Another Danish coach. 27 years old and sailing for the last 17 of them. He started sailing optimists at the age of 10 and then progressed into Hobie 405, 29er, 49er and now match racing. He has sailed in several Danish, European and World Championships winning medals at Danish and European Championships. Kasper first started coaching at the age of 15 in his local sailing club. After 3 years he moved to USA where he coached full time for a year and a half. He is now coaching 29ers and is the Danish national coach for the Optimist World team.

Manny Resano
Renowned optimist coach and working for the last 7 years as optimist coach in Argentina, Peurto Rico, USA, Spain, Mexico and Neatherlands. He sailed for 8 years in optimists and his results included a 5th place in the World Championships in 1997 and 2nd in the Team Racing Worlds. He is really looking forward to sharing his experience with you all. |

Max Rohde:
25-year-old Optimist Coach from Denmark. In his younger years he sailed optimist at an International level resulting in qualification to the Worlds twice and winning the Danish Nationals once. As Optimist Coach he has spent three summers in Massachusetts, US. Furthermore he was Headcoach of Sailing Center of Kerteminde for two years. As a medical student with only one year left before becoming a doctor his time Coaching Optimists is limited, and at this point he only Coaches at special occasions. He is looking forward to a great Clinic with all of you.

Lola Resano
Comes from Argentina/Spain with her coaching recognised by the Catalan Sailing Federation (FCV). She has been coaching advanced racing teams in Barcelona Spain for the past 6 years. At CN Arenys she coached one of the two Opti racing teams (2004-2008) and was also the club's technical coordinator (2004-2008), focused on raising the club to the highest competitive level in Spain. In 2005, she was contacted by an enthusiastic racing team in Malta, where she spent half-season coaching both beginners and advanced sailors at MYSC. Lola is currently the Opti race coach at CN Salou (Spain), as well as the head coach for the club's Opti fleet. Her training program includes attending international events such as Palma de Mallorca, Vigo, Palamos and Roses and hosting a yearly clinic with Optisailors' Manny Resano. She holds a BA in English Philology from the University of Barcelona, and is currently working on a PhD. |
