A SAILOR FROM IRELAND IN THE LEAD - IRL879

This is now leg 4 and the 130 000 boat fleet with 90 countries represented is linking Singapore to Quindao in China... And since lunch time this Tuesday, an oppie sailor from Ireland is in the lead - IRL879

It was not long after the start that Erica decided to tack off and go towards the Vietnam coastline. Nothing too exciting for a while as all the specialists were heading the other way... Until this morning when over excited dad called the coach stating places were slidding fast towards the top of the ranks... Erica being at school, decision was made to let the coach work the tactics until she returned... playing the shifts and the breeze right up to the coastline was tricky but exciting and Erica, back from School, rapidly settled into the top 3 receiving numerous messages of encouragement from people all around the world...
