Harty OppyThe Harty Oppy About us The Oppy Shop has been running successfully since 2003 and is the brainchild of David Harte. David was the International prototype measurer for IODA (International Optimist Dinghy Association) for 5 years. During this time David gained invaluable insight into the building of an Optimist to the highest performance and quality available. David is also coaching sailing at national and international level for over 12 years. The Harty Optimist is built by David Harte & Peter Whiting at Munster Marine in Midleton, Co. Cork.
