Team Ireland – World & European Championships

On behalf of the IODAI committee I would like to congratulate our team members who have recently returned from the European Championships in Lake Garda, Italy and the World Championships in Cesme, Turkey.

We should all be most proud of each and every one of them, together with their coaches and management teams, as they all represented themselves, their Association and their Country with distinction both on and off the water.

While “spectacular” results for Team Ireland are harder to come by at these events nowadays it is not through any lack of hard work or preparation on the part of our sailors.  The effort put in by each of the sailors together with the help and support of their parents is awesome and they are all to be congratulated for it.

We wish them well for the rest of the season and with their future endeavours in sailing.

Finally I want to say the very best of luck to up to 30 of our young sailors including the IODAI under 12 Team who are competing at all levels at the British National Championships in Pwllheli, Wales next week.  This has always been a popular event with the Irish and I know everyone will enjoy themselves!!
