Updated! We now have all the required trophies for the new Junior fleet

Following the change in fleet format this year additional trophies are now required by the class; four Regional Trophies for Junior Silver fleet winners and 12 Race Winner Trophies for the Junior fleet at the Nationals.  The Senior fleet already get Race Winner trophies at the Nationals and it is only fitting that the Junior fleet should get the same recognition. IODAI are seeking the support of clubs or optimist families to sponsor perpetual Junior Race Winner Trophies at the Nationals.  The trophies are required in time for presentation at this year’s Nationals at Tralee Bay Sailing Club. 

Four trophies have already been donated for the Junior Silver Fleet winner at the four Regionals by Skerries Sailing Club; Galway Bay Sailing Club; Waterford Harbour Sailing Club and Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club. 

Trophies would need to be durable to withstand the many car journeys around the country and have a base large enough to hold the many name plaques that will gather over the years.

Skerries Sailing Club; Galway Bay Sailing Club; Waterford Harbour Sailing Club; and Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club have already come forward and we have 4 of the 12 Race Trophies secured thus leaving 8 to find.
