Optimist Rigging Guide

Last year the website published "the optimist rigging guide".  This proved very popular with new parents to the fleet, particularly parents of regatta fleet sailors.  With even more new parents again this year, it's being published again.  It doesn't matter if you've sailed all your life, when it comes to rigging Oppies the most experienced can find difficulties - and we wouldn't want our new sailors thinking that Mummy or Daddy didn't know anything about sailing.

To avoid any embarrassment, or more importantly a lack of confidence by your sailor in your ability, it's recommended that you download this simple guide and then you'll be able show that you know absolutely EVERYTHING about sailing and in particular, how to rig an Oppie.

Of course the ultimate aim is to have all sailor's rigging their own boats but in the early years with very young sailors this can be a bit ambitious.  You can of course, always ask for help.  This guide in no way means that the more experienced won't help the newcomers.
