Palamos - the Schull Alternative
Fourteen sailors and their parents travelled to Palamos in Spain to attend the Optimist Clinic and KABB Trophy Regatta from 9th to 17th February. The clinic was very well attended with sailors from Norway, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Italy, Russia, France,, USA, Denmark, Great Britain, Switzerland, Poland, and of course Spain.
Coaching was organised for five days and sailors got the opportunity to have coaching from not just their own coach but coaches from the other participating countries.
When the coaching finished the sailors then competed in the KABB Trophy Regatta which had an entry
of over 300 boats. The days were long but enjoyed by all and the consensus at the end of the trip
was that it was all worthwhile.
