Leinster Autumn Coaching Closes

Eoin Keller, Georgina Corbett and Mark Condy all knew what they had to do last Sunday to secure the Polar Series Trophy.  An announcement the previous week let them know that they had only 5 points between them in the Series going into the last week and final two races.

Sailing steadily throughout the Series, Eoin didn't do anything different on the last day.  Taking the pressure in his stride he put in two 3rd places in the final two races to secure the trophy.

Neither Georgina Corbett nor Mark Condy could do anything about such consistent results and they remained in their respective 2nd and 3rd slots for the overall results.

Irrespective of the top of the scoreboad there were many personal acheivements throught the fleet.  Georgina Corbett took the prize for the Most Improved Sailor while William Potterton was the Most Improved Under 11 Sailor.  All sailors received a participation medal for the Training and the Series.

What most sailors didn't realise was that they had ALL improved.  From a fleet of stragglers which took over five muinutes to round the windward mark two months ago, everyone was round the mark within one minute 10 seconds and hardly any daylight between the boats.  Finishes were close and any mistake could cost two or three places.  Well done everyone!!
