Note on rankings : What happens after the trials ?

For sailors sailing in the trials

After the trials the top 30 senior fleet sailors become Gold but with no demotions (if you were Senior gold going into the trials you remain so).
Junior sailors moving into the senior fleet will have to finish in the top 30 to become senior gold otherwise they will be senior silver.

After the trials all juniors who remain juniors this year will form the new junior gold fleet and are invited to form the under 12's squad.

For sailors not sailing in the trials

Junior silver sailors moving to the senior fleet who do not sail in the trials are senior silver.
Senior silver sailors who do not sail in the trials are senior silver.

Junior sailors who do not sail in the trials remain junior silver.

Please note interm ranking will not be published until two regionals have been sailed and full ranking for the year will not be published until September 2011.

The final ranking for 2010 have now been published.

The process of complining the ranking is a complicated one which involves merging results. Please check them in particular if your sailor has changed sail number during the course of the season.

Qualification for the 2011 IODAI team trials are based on these rankings.

In the senior fleet, the first 40 sailors after excluding sailors who must compulsorily retire because of their age will qualify.

In the junior fleet, the first 35 sailors will qualify.

In both cases, no account will be taken of voluntary retirements in calculating the top ranked sailors.

This change has been made to ensure that sailors know will know now if they have qualified as  so that they can commit to a training programme for the following year.
